Mary W. Gurz
Associate
Mary graduated from Mississippi College School of Law in 2009, where she was a member of Phi Delta Phi, Christian Legal Society, and the Women’s Student Bar Association. She was an intern at the Mississippi Workers’ Compensation Commission and volunteered with Mission First Legal Aid Clinic.
Mary’s legal career began in 2010, when she inherited her father’s solo practice in South Georgia, which focused on personal injury and workers’ compensation claims for plaintiffs, social security disability, and immigration. She also served as president of the Tifton Judicial Circuit Bar Association.
Then, Mary moved to Atlanta and joined a liability defense firm in 2018, where she focused on defending personal and commercial automobile claims. During her time in Atlanta, Mary was a member of the Georgia Association for Women Lawyers and the Stonewall Bar Association. She also published several articles in For the Defense magazine.
Mary is now an associate in the Dallas office of Waddell Serafino Geary Rechner Jenevein, PC, where her practice primarily focuses on personal injury defense, construction defect litigation, and commercial litigation.
In her free time, Mary enjoys writing, traveling, and attending concerts. She has a Creative Writing Certificate from Emory University and has published several award-winning young adult novels. She lives in the Northeast Dallas area with her husband and their two kids.
